in linuxmint 7 (ubuntu 9.04) the sync does not work this way for me, tomboy stops syncing with 'Invalid handle to path /my/gvfs/path/tomboy/lock'.

One comment to my previous post:

Please don't get me wrong - i love this tiny piece of software and its capabilities and would strongly suggest to have a look at it.
But managing more than 160 Notes is sometimes a hassle.

And one small to the author...

As i remember right, this gvfs method was introduced already before, so i think also every Hardy and at least also Gutsy users might find your information useful...

Hey,

major drawback of this method is however, as experienced personally a couple of times already, that if you forget to connect your lets call it "virtual drive" beforehand and synchronize, all you local notes will get copied to this unmounted location and Tomboy sometimes gets confused big time about this, including deleting some notes etc. pp because of revision information in the manifest.xml files. I suggest you better do backups for your notes regularly and read thoroughly what he has done whilst syncing. For more verbosity i'd suggest starting TB from console.
I try to stay synced with four different systems and its working fairly well, but sometimes this ends up in a very hard time, especially when you want to recover some of your lost information. Cheers, Nix
